Back to the Beginning...

As many of us are saying goodbye to our First Grade friends, some of us are looking ahead.  I said my goodbyes on sad.  As I finish the clean up and paperwork for the year this week, I am already thinking about new beginnings in August.

Here's a new game for those of us thinking ahead...

I always start the year with color words and number words. This game practices reading color words.

I will continue to post new games, ideas, and activities throughout the summer. Don't forget to stop by to see what's new!

I just got the newest clip art CD from DJ Inkers and I LOVE it!!  It's called Kidoodles: Language Arts.  She has some GREAT new graphics that I can't wait to use. Oh, I already did. I love the kid crayon graphics. I overheard my students talking while playing a game that I had used the graphics on and they thought I drew the pictures myself.   There is nothing better than a DJ Inkers smile! Be sure to check it out!

Bread and Jam for Frances

THANKS to a friend several years ago for introducing me to Frances.  She learns good life lessons in Russell Hoban's books. If you don't know her yet, be sure to look for books about her this week. You gotta love a badger with her own mind!

I am using Bread and Jam for Frances this week as an introduction for our class project for the Science Fair this week.  We will be experimenting with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Here's a new game to go with Bread and Jam for Frances by Russell Hoban.  Click the picture to grab your own copy.

I also created several other activities to go with the book.  This is my first literature unit of activities. Be sure to check them out!  Click here to grab your own copy.

Happy Mother's Day

We've done many projects for mom over the years and this has been the chosen one for the past couple of years. The idea came from Mailbox magazine a couple of years ago. The flower stems are coupons for mom to choose from.  There are 8 flowers in all and they come out of the vase. We put a magnet on the back so mom can put it on the refrigerator. It's just construction paper but the kids love making it for mom!

Check them out...
