I'd like to put the SPOTLIGHT on a blog or two that I have taken note of and think you will be interested in.

These blogs certainly don't need my help to get noticed but sometimes it's nice to be in the SPOTLIGHT!

Tonight I'd like to SPOTLIGHT...

Jill has some great ways to integrate art into the curriculum. She shares some pics of how she has used ideas from other bloggers. She also has some good place value and 1 more, 1 less, 10 more, 10 less ideas that she is using with her students. I use the math tiles to find missing numbers but haven't used them for those concepts yet. She has lots of other GREAT ideas to share!
I'd also like to SPOTLIGHT...

Jessica has a GREAT way for students to review and demonstrate their knowledge of figurative language. She shares a "Pinterest" inspired booklet and pics of her students work and how GREAT they turned out.

Finally, I am putting the SPOTLIGHT on...

Hadar is showcasing teaching tips in a Linky Party that you won't want to miss out on. Be sure to check it out!

Click on over and visit my SPOTLIGHTed blogs and tell them that Kathy sent you! If they like, they can pick up my SPOTLIGHT Sunday button above.
I would also like to say THANKS to Veterans near and far and THANK them for their service to our country!

I have some Veteran's Day activities you might want to include in your plans this week.
Here's a secret math message...
and some vocabulary activities...

Click on the pics above to grab your own copies. ENJOY!

Have a WONDERFUL week!

I'd like to put the SPOTLIGHT on a blog or two that I have taken note of this week and think that you may be interested in.

These blogs certainly don't need my help to get noticed but sometimes it's nice to be in the SPOTLIGHT!

First, all the people in the Northeast have been in my thoughts and prayers as Hurricane Sandy touched them this week.

I want to SPOTLIGHT...

Erica's town was touched by the hurricane and has posted some photos of the damage. She also has pictures showing how her AWESOME town is coming together to help those in need. She is also pretty AWESOME for dedicating the proceeds of her Hurricane Unit to the Hurricane Sandy relief fund for her town. It's an easy way for us ALL to help out!

I'd also like to SPOTLIGHT...

Tanya is another FANTABULOUS teacher from New York that was touched by the effects of Sandy. She is having a SALE this weekend and donating the proceeds to the NYSUT Disaster Relief and Scholarship fund to help those affected by the hurricane. Be sure to stop by and check it out. It is another easy way to help!

The SPOTLIGHT is also on...

Laurah, also from the northeast, is organizing teacher donations of their products from their stores for teachers affected by Hurricane Sandy. If you are a teacher in need, she has a form for you to fill out. She has a HUGE list of generous teachers making donations. If you can help out, click on the pic below.  It will be GREATLY appreciated. It is so WONDERFUL to see so many of us helping out those in need!

Click on over and visit my SPOTLIGHTed blogs and tell them that Kathy sent you! If they like, they can pick up my SPOTLIGHT Sunday button above.

Have a GREAT week!
