Classroom Management 101, Part 3

Here's another activity you can do with parents at registration.

I print the note above on bright colored card stock to get attention.  Parents read it and sign up on the chart below to send in a treat. It lists the last day of every week of the school year.

They take a reminder note with them.

I also put a little note in the weekly newsletter to remind parents when it is their turn.

Parents may send in anything they choose.  In the past we have gotten pencils, stickers, bubbles, bookmarks, silly bands, and snacks.  I leave it up to the parents.

The best thing about this is that it is done for the year! If it doesn't get filled up, I bring it out at curriculum night. If a parent chooses not to sign up, they usually send in a note some time during the year asking when it is their turn. They don't want to be left out. Very rarely do I supply a treat.

The next question is...what about the students that don't earn their stars?  They do not get a treat.  They quickly learn how this system works.

In 23 years, I have only had one parent did not send in a treat because the child would not get it because he didn't earn it.  I was okay with that.

Come back tomorrow to find out how this ties into the happy/sad face.

P.S. You can grab a copy of my sign and reminder notes by clicking on the pictures.

I love your ideas for behavior management. It will be a great addition to my class. I have gone back to 32 kids and I need something easy to manage.

Love this idea. How do you keep track of all of the children and their stars? Do they have a visual that reminds them of how many they have? Is there a stamp or sticker you use to mark off the stars? Just trying to figure out the easiest way to incorporate this into my classroom and I figured you might have some suggestions!!

I clarified that fine china is extremely fragile, frequently costly, porcelain dinnerware that can be effectively broken; and, it's exclusive brought out for extraordinary events. Obviously, certain porcelains can be entirely tough, yet I was attempting to impart a dream in their heads of something fragile and uncommon that should have been shielded from harm. usacheckcashingstore.com/san-diego

You may consider that - is getting auto credits simple. There is a high likelihood of getting auto advances endorsed particularly in the event that you are a mortgage holder. Property holder auto credit are secured auto advances. Secured auto advances are given to a man who can put his home or property as a surety. Cash Advance Chicago
